Far North Coast (CONC)

'Working together to strengthen Far North Coast communities'

The formation of CONC in 2004 was a natural progression for the regional network member organisations who already had a strong alliance.

The rationale behind the formation of the Consortium celebrates the fact that geographically, CONC member organisations already service the greater Far North Coast area of NSW and provide services to a potential population of more than 270,000 people.

By acting as a unified body in seeking/receiving regional funding, the CONC is in a position to achieve the following:

• Implement rapid service start-up across the region;

• Provision of resources and facilities;

• Support regional workers in advisory and mentoring capacities;

• Tap into a network of experienced community service committees and managers;

• Provide high standards of financial and regional program accountabilities;

• Provide ongoing needs assessment as part of program development and continuous quality improvement.

All CONC members are committed to working cooperatively at a regional level to participate in service planning as well as compete for regional funding opportunities. With the infrastructure the group can offer - a significant combination of service sites and facilities and resources to support future service development - members of CONC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding will be working hard at the regional level to achieve the Consortium’s aims and objectives.
